Ohio’s Scholarship Granting Organization program gives La Salle supporters a meaningful way to help students while receiving a dollar-for-dollar credit on their Ohio income taxes. Through this program, Ohio taxpayers can make a qualified gift to a certified Scholarship Granting Organization and direct that gift to benefit La Salle High School. Your gift supports tuition assistance and scholarships for students, helping make a La Salle education possible for more families.
What Is an SGO?
A Scholarship Granting Organization, or SGO, is a certified organization that receives charitable gifts and uses those funds to provide scholarships for students. The Catholic Education Foundation for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati has been certified by the State of Ohio as an SGO and provides scholarships to students in Catholic schools across the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.
How the Ohio Tax Credit Works
Ohio taxpayers may be eligible to receive a dollar-for-dollar, non-refundable Ohio income tax credit for gifts made to a certified SGO. The credit is currently available up to $750 per individual or $1,500 for married couples filing jointly. That means your gift can directly support La Salle students while reducing your Ohio income tax liability.
How to Make Your Gift
1. Visit the Catholic Education Foundation SGO giving page.
2. Choose your gift amount.
3. Designate La Salle High School as the school to benefit from your gift.
4. Save your gift receipt for your Ohio tax filing.
