Student Support

Supporting Every Student’s Growth

At La Salle, student support is rooted in relationships. Our team works alongside students, families, teachers, counselors, and staff to help each young man grow academically, socially, emotionally, and personally within the rigor of a college preparatory program. La Salle’s Student Support Services team was founded to support a wide range of learners and help students access the resources they need to succeed.

Academics
Support That Meets Students
Where They Are

La Salle provides support through a coordinated team that includes school counselors, a school psychologist, intervention specialists, a speech pathologist, mentors, faculty, and staff. Together, this team helps identify student needs, create appropriate supports, and guide students toward growth.

Support may include:
• Academic skill development
• Organization and executive functioning support
• Behavioral support
• Social and emotional support
• Speech and language services
• Testing and accommodation support
• College testing accommodations•
• Intervention support for students with IEPs or ISPs

Multi-Tiered Systems of Support

La Salle uses Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, or MTSS, to help students in their academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development. The MTSS team includes school counselors, the school psychologist, and an assistant principal. Teachers, counselors, coaches, and staff may share concerns related to academics, attendance, discipline, bullying, special needs, pastoral care, health, mental health, financial concerns, college support, or graduation requirements.

The MTSS team reviews student needs regularly and works to provide individualized support when needed.

Services for Diverse Learners

La Salle offers support for students with Individualized Education Programs and Individual Service Plans. An intervention specialist is paired with each student who has an IEP or ISP, providing support that may include academic skill development, organization, and behavior management. La Salle is also an approved provider for the Autism Scholarship and Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship through the Ohio Department of Education.

Additional services may include school psychology, speech and language support, and related services such as occupational therapy, physical therapy, and audiology through the Hamilton County Educational Service Center.

Mentoring and Personal Growth

La Salle’s mentoring program helps every student build a meaningful connection with a member of the school staff. Students meet with their mentors monthly and remain paired with the same mentor throughout their four years at La Salle. Each grade level has a focus, from freshman transition to career exploration, college planning, and scholarship applications.

This relationship-centered approach helps students feel known, supported, and guided as they move through high school.

Helping Students Rise

Student Support Services reflects La Salle’s mission to form young men in mind, body, and spirit. Through academic support, counseling, mentoring, intervention, and personal guidance, La Salle helps students build confidence, strengthen habits, overcome challenges, and prepare for college, career, and life.
