Guiding Students Toward What Comes Next
La Salle’s College Counseling program helps students and families navigate the college search, application, and decision-making process with confidence. From freshman year through senior year, counselors work with students to understand their strengths, explore future pathways, and prepare for life after La Salle.
Four-Year Guidance and Support
Every student is assigned a school counselor and keeps that counselor throughout his four years at La Salle. Counselors meet with students through individual sessions, group meetings, and classroom lessons, helping each young man plan intentionally for academic success, career exploration, and post-secondary opportunities. This consistent relationship allows counselors to know students well and provide guidance that reflects each student’s interests, goals, and growth.
College and Career Exploration
La Salle uses Naviance, a college and career exploration platform, to help students research colleges, explore career interests, and make informed decisions about their future. Students are encouraged to use Naviance throughout their high school experience as they consider possible majors, career pathways, and post-secondary options. Through counseling meetings, mentoring conversations, and academic planning, students are encouraged to connect their interests with meaningful next steps.
Support Through the Application Process
La Salle offers support for students with Individualized Education Programs and Individual Service Plans. An intervention specialist is paired with each student who has an IEP or ISP, providing support that may include academic skill development, organization, and behavior management. La Salle is also an approved provider for the Autism Scholarship and Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship through the Ohio Department of Education.

Mentoring for Future Planning
La Salle’s mentoring program supports college and career readiness across all four years. Freshmen focus on getting acclimated to La Salle. Sophomores explore careers. Juniors connect career interests with majors and college options. Seniors focus on college and scholarship applications. This structure helps students build confidence and direction one step at a time.

Community Service Partners
La Salle works with community partners that provide students with opportunities to serve beyond campus. These partnerships help students encounter different needs, build relationships and understand how service strengthens both the giver and the receiver.
Through these experiences, students are invited to see the face of Christ in others and live the Lasallian call to serve with humility, respect and compassion.

- GODOGOOD: Campus Ministry service opportunities at St. Francis Seraph Soup Kitchen and Fighting Chance.
- Our Daily Bread: Provides meals, hospitality and community support for individuals in need.
- St. Francis Seraph Soup Kitchen: Serves nutritious meals in a welcoming and dignified environment.
- Big Brothers Big Sisters: Connects young people with supportive, one-to-one mentoring relationships.
- Local Parishes: Offer summer service opportunities through Vacation Bible School, festivals and neighborhood projects.
- InnerView: Helps students track service hours, showcase their impact and earn national service recognition.
- VolunteerMatch: Connects volunteers with nonprofit organizations and service opportunities.
- Fighting Chance: Supports young people through boxing, mentorship and personal development.
