La Salle High School is part of a global Catholic educational tradition inspired by St. John Baptist de La Salle, patron saint of teachers and founder of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. For generations, Lasallian schools have formed young people through faith, scholarship, service, community and care for the whole person. At La Salle, that tradition lives today in the classroom, in prayer, on the field, on stage, through service and in the brotherhood shared by Lancers past, present and future. Our history is more than where we began. It is the foundation for who we are becoming.
In 1960, the Christian Brothers opened La Salle High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. Since then, La Salle has formed generations of young men through a Catholic, Lasallian education focused on the whole person. Lancers are challenged to grow academically, spiritually, socially and personally, while developing the confidence, discipline and character needed for life beyond high school. Today, La Salle continues to honor its founding mission while preparing students for the future.

St. John Baptist de La Salle
St. John Baptist de La Salle was a Catholic priest, educational reformer and founder of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. In 1680, in France, De La Salle answered the call to provide a Christian education to young people, especially the poor and marginalized. He understood the power of education to change lives and believed that students should be formed in body, mind and spirit. His vision brought together a community of educators known as the Christian Brothers, whose mission continues in schools throughout the world today.
The Christian Brothers
La Salle High School was founded in the Lasallian tradition of the Christian Brothers. The Brothers of the Christian Schools are a Catholic teaching order devoted to the Christian education of youth. Their work is rooted in the belief that education is not only about academic instruction, but also about forming character, strengthening faith and helping young people recognize their God-given dignity and purpose. At La Salle, that same mission continues through the faculty, staff, coaches and mentors who guide students each day.
