Mission & Ministry

All students are expected to complete and document their Christian service hours according to the guidelines established by the Campus Ministry Office.

• Service hour documentation must be submitted to the Campus Ministry Office within 90 school days of completing the service. Hours submitted after that window will not be counted.
• Service to parents, grandparents, or other family members is considered a family obligation and does not count toward a student’s Christian service total.
• Service connected to a co-curricular activity in which a student participates does not count if it is part of his normal involvement in that activity. However, if the co-curricular activity performs outside service as a group, those hours may count toward each participating student’s Christian service total.
• Christian service hours must be voluntary. Students may not receive pay or other compensation for their service.
• If service is performed for an organization, the organization must be nonprofit. Volunteering for a for-profit organization does not count as Christian service.
• Students may complete service during the summer between eighth grade and freshman year, but only service completed after eighth-grade graduation will count.
• The Campus Ministry Office determines whether a service activity qualifies as Christian service and whether it is classified as Red or White service. Students are encouraged to ask for clarification before completing service if they are unsure whether an activity qualifies.

Ultimately, our goal is for students to understand and live the Lasallian call to serve by offering their time, talents, and gifts in the active formation of God’s Kingdom here on earth.
