National Merit Commended Students announced

Sep 28, 2022

Congratulations to Robert Crail and Weston Rullman, both named Commended Students in the 2023 Nation Merit Scholarship Program. About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2023 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2023 competition by taking the 2021 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

Robert plans to attend the University of Cincinnati to pursue a degree in marketing and hopefully study at the Lindner Honors College of Business. He currently participates on the cross country and track and field teams, is a member of the National Honor Society and the Lasallian Scholars Institute (LSI).

"I am very grateful and appreciative of being named a Commended Student.” Crail shared. “It is a testament to all the hard work that I have put in during my time at La Salle. I am grateful for the support that has been given to me by my friends, family and teachers, and look forward to the rest of my time at La Salle and beyond.”

Weston is still undecided on which college he’ll attend but plans to study chemical engineering and pursue an MBA. He hopes to be an entrepreneur. He is a member of the varsity tennis team and the bowling team, is involved in La Salle drama, maker space club, newspaper club, chess club, competes on the school’s academic team, is a Key Club officer and is a member of the National Honor Society.

“I'm honored to receive the commendation,” he stated. “I am very grateful to my friends and my family for helping me to succeed."

Please join us in a round of applause for our two National Merit Commended Students.
