College Credit Plus


Ohio’s new College Credit Plus program can help you earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking college courses from community colleges or universities. The purpose of this program is to promote rigorous academic pursuits and to provide a wide variety of options to college-ready students. College Credit Plus is free to those taking a college course from a public college or university. That means no cost for tuition, books or fees. If you choose to attend a private college or university, you may have limited costs.

La Salle High School has a partnership with the University of Cincinnati to offer both Engineering classes and a business pathway with the Lindner College of Business in our building. Classes offered for the 2024-2025 school year are listed below:

CCP Process
1.  CCP Annual Information Session held January 25, 2024. Recording is available here.
2. By MARCH 1st, students need to return their CCP Counseling Acknowledgement form, signed by both a parent and the student, to the Main Office. CCP Student Guide and the CCP Counseling Acknowledgment form 
 
3. By MARCH 1st, students need to apply to CCP at UC at https://www.uc.edu/aas/ccp/apply.html. It is a free application. Directions can be found here.
  • A completed application includes a permission slip, signed by the parent and the student. This should be uploaded to a student's UC application.
  • Mrs. Fager will send transcripts for all applicants. There is nothing additional you need to do to have the transcript sent. Please allow processing time for me and for UC to process the transcript. 
4. By APRIL 1st at 5pm, Parent/Guardian needs to submit the Funding Application.
    
       Funding Application Steps
  1. Parent/Guardian needs to obtain an OH|ID account at https://safe.ode.state.oh.us/portal
  2. Parent/Guardian needs to complete the Funding Application. Please use this Funding Manual as a guide - https://highered.ohio.gov/static/ccp/Secondary/CCP_Funding_Application_Manual-2024-25.pdf
  3. After applying and being admitted to a college under College Credit Plus, the college will email your student an acceptance letter. Upload a copy of the acceptance letter to your College Credit Plus Funding Application (OH|ID account). If your student gets an acceptance letter from more than one college, you must upload each college's acceptance letter. 
  4. Request funding for the number of COLLEGE credit hours your son will be taking for the entire year. The CCP classes at La Salle are three college credit hours each. If your son is taking two classes, you should request a minimum of 6 hours. If your son is taking four classes, you should request a minimum of 12 hours. You can request up to 30 credit hours for your son.
  5. It is the responsibility of the student and the parent to be aware of which CCP classes they have registered for at La Salle and to apply for the appropriate number of college credit hours. 
  6. There is NO FLEXIBILITY for the Funding Application Deadline of April 1st at 5pm. Parents are strongly encouraged to submit your funding application well in advance of the deadline. 
5. Students will attend a CCP Orientation and officially register for their in-building CCP courses in August.
 
*For students taking CCP classes outside of La Salle, it is the student's responsibility to communicate with their school counselor and complete the advising/registration process at the college*
